The Department of Modern Languages in conjunction with The Peruvian Arts Society cordially invites you to attend our Spring Cultural Program on Saturday May 18, 2024, at DePaul University Schmidt Academic Center Room 161 at the Lincoln Park Campus, 2320 N. Kenmore Avenue (between W. Belden and Fullerton). Free and open to the public.

We will be featuring a film screening of recently released acclaimed Peruvian film La piel más temida (2023, in Spanish with English subtitles) following a conversation with the film director Joel Calero. The event will close with an Andean Dance Performance by Jessica Loyaga and Rubén Pachas from Center of Peruvian Arts.

Synopsis: “After 20 years abroad, Alejandra returns to her hometown in Peru to take care of some family affairs. Once there, she discovers that her father is in prison. She then decides she wants to know who the man is who abandoned her at the age of three. Soon, she will be embarking on a journey of self-discovery that will bring her closer to her country, her roots, and her own identity.” (2023, in Spanish with English subtitles).
